Other Virtual Tabletops
Using RNGESUS dice inside Roll20, Foundry and Fantasy Grounds — what works today, and what doesn't yet.

Looking for our virtual tabletop? That's a different thing and it already exists — maps, fog of war, line of sight, initiative, the works, free and with no dice required. Read about the RNGESUS tabletop. This page is specifically about using our dice inside somebody else's software.
The idea
You're playing online with friends, but instead of clicking a virtual dice button you pick up your actual die, tap your phone, and the result appears in the tabletop everyone's looking at. Physical dice, digital convenience, maximum drama.
We're working toward that. It isn't all there yet.
What works today
Manual entry. The low-tech but fully functional approach: roll, see the result in the app, type it into your VTT. Is it as seamless as we want? No. Does it work? Absolutely. And there's something satisfying about announcing "I rolled a 19" while holding the proof.
Screen sharing. Share your phone screen on a video call so the table can see rolls as they happen. Works with Discord, Zoom, or whatever you use for voice. Not automated, but it does lend weight to your "I swear I rolled a nat 20" moments.
What's on the roadmap
None of the below exists yet. They're listed so you know where we're pointed, not so you plan a campaign around them.
| Platform | The idea | Where it stands |
|---|---|---|
| Roll20 | A browser extension that spots a RNGESUS roll and drops it into the chat log. | Being worked on. |
| Fantasy Grounds | Same concept as a plugin or extension. | Technical details still being sorted. |
| Foundry VTT | Foundry's module system makes it a good candidate. | Exploring. |
| Discord bots | A bot that receives your rolls and posts them to your server. | Probably closest to reality — bots are far simpler than VTT plugins. |
Why isn't this done yet? Fair question. Every platform has different APIs, different rules, and different levels of openness to outside tools. We're small, and we're working on it as fast as we can without breaking everything else.
If you're a developer who fancies helping build one of these, we'd genuinely love to hear from you. Get in touch.
In person
None of this applies to a game round an actual table — just roll, tap, and everyone sees the result. The app logs the lot, so you come away with a complete record of the session.
Some DMs use this to keep players honest. Some players use it to prove their dice aren't cursed. They might still be cursed. We can't help with that.
An API
For the technically inclined: we're considering opening an API so people can build their own integrations. If you have a specific platform or use case in mind, say so — knowing what people actually want is how we decide what to build next.
