Tap-to-Roll Dice

A Modest Proposal for Slightly Smarter Dice.

Three Things In A Trenchcoat

You don't need all three. Each part stands on its own. Together they do more.

🎲 The Dice

Not dice exactly β€” 3D-printed tokens and keyfobs with an NFC tag inside. You tap one to your phone instead of throwing it, and the tag's unique ID seeds the roll, so every result is tied to that specific objectfor as long as you own it β€” streaks, averages, every crit and every fumble.

Carry them however you like. One tag per die if you want each one to have its own life, or a master key β€” a whole set encoded onto a single tag, so seven dice fit on a keyring. Tap the key, pick a face, roll it. Same records, one pocket.

πŸ—ΊοΈ The Virtual Tabletop

Your table, your rules. Upload any map and calibrate the grid to it. Cut walls that give real line of sight, so fog opens as people walk and the corridor stays dark until somebody turns the corner. Then tokens with HP and conditions, initiative order, a ruler, area templates for the fireball argument, handouts, and a soundboard.

Build the campaign in the Workshop, open a table, and hand out a room code. Runs in a browser, works on a phone, and needs none of our hardware.

🍺 The Tavern

A game lobby and a social hub in one room. Find a table with a seat free and take it, or grab one of your own and let people sit down. Found a guild hall with the people you actually play with β€” presence, chat, a hearth and a notice board of its own β€” and add someone by tapping their die.

It's also just somewhere to be: a fire that burns down over the evening, a bar, and seven dice games on the shelf for the ten minutes before everybody turns up. Brag, weep or commiserate in the feed like a normal person.

Why Choose RNGESUS?

Mobile App

iPhone and Android. A tag only talks to a phone, so that's the part you actually hold β€” track rolls, manage your collection, and pretend you didn't just roll three natty ones in a row. On iPad it runs the table instead of the tapping: the map on the big screen, the rolling still in your hand, and the two always in step. Both apps are in final testing β€” the web app works today on any phone.

Advanced Analytics

From hot streaks to heartbreak, get stats on every roll. Knowledge is powerβ€”and occasionally pain.

Every roll is kept, per die, for the life of the object β€” so you can settle the arguments that usually just get louder. Is that d20 actually cursed? No models, no predictions, no algorithm sensing your aura; just counting, done properly, over data nobody has a reason to fake.

Collectible Experience

Add to your collection like a dragon with a mild online shopping problem. Different shapes, sizes and colours, as singles or a full set β€” and if it isn't in the shop, ask.

They move, too. Gift one, or trade one, with a tap at both ends to prove you're holding what you're handing over. Every die carries its own provenance: who owned it, when, and how it changed hands.

Character Sheets

Full 5e sheets with a creation wizard that lets you tap a tag for your ability scores β€” so your terrible stats are at least authentically your own fault. Level-ups work the same way. Bind a sheet to a tag and your character becomes something you can hand to someone. Sheets for more systems are on the way; the tabletop itself already runs whatever you like.

Achievements

Hundreds to find, and not all of them are listed. Some are hidden until they fire. A few are platform firsts β€” the first person ever to do a particular thing takes it, permanently, and nobody else can ever have it; there's a public board of who holds what. Others are handed out by your GM at the table. Coppers come with them, which you can spend at the bar.

No Subscription. Ever.

The account, the tabletop, character sheets, the tavern and every social feature cost nothing, and there is nothing to renew β€” no tiers, no seat limits, no paying extra to upload a bigger map, no "upgrade to invite a fifth player". We're not exactly swimming in venture capital over here, but we're not about to charge you rent on your own dice either.
