Gaming Integration

Using RNGESUS dice with other people's virtual tabletop platforms. Some of this is ready now, some of it is coming soon, and all of it is pretty cool.

Looking for our own virtual tabletop? That's a different thing and it already exists — maps, fog of war, line of sight, initiative, the works, free and with no dice required. Read about the RNGESUS tabletop. This page is specifically about using our dice inside somebody else's software.

The Vision

Here's the dream: you're playing D&D online with friends, but instead of clicking a virtual dice button, you grab your actual RFID die, tap your phone, and the result automatically appears in your virtual tabletop. Physical dice, digital convenience, maximum drama.

We're working on making this a reality. It's not all there yet, but we're building toward full integration with popular platforms.

Current Options

Manual Entry (Works Now)

The low-tech but fully functional approach: roll your RNGESUS die, see the result in the app, and type it into your VTT. Is it as seamless as we want? No. Does it work? Absolutely. And there's something satisfying about announcing "I rolled a 19" while holding proof in your hand.

Screen Sharing (Works Now)

Share your phone screen during video calls so other players can see your rolls in real-time. This works with Discord, Zoom, or whatever you use for voice chat. It's not automated integration, but it does add legitimacy to your "I swear I rolled a nat 20" moments.

Platform IntegrationsComing Soon

We're actively working on integrations with popular virtual tabletop platforms. Here's what's on the roadmap:

Roll20

Browser extension that detects RNGESUS rolls and submits them directly to your Roll20 game. Roll your physical die, and it shows up in the chat log just like any other roll. We're working on it.

Fantasy Grounds

Similar concept — a plugin or extension that bridges your physical rolls to Fantasy Grounds. The technical details are still being sorted out, but it's on the list.

Foundry VTT

Foundry's module system makes it a good candidate for integration. We're exploring options here too.

Discord Bots

A Discord bot that can receive your rolls and post them in your server. This one's probably closest to reality — Discord bots are relatively straightforward compared to VTT plugins.

Why Isn't This Done Yet?

Fair question. Building integrations with third-party platforms is tricky. Each one has different APIs, different rules, and different levels of openness to outside tools. We're a small team, and we're working on it as fast as we can without breaking everything else.

If you're a developer interested in helping build integrations, we'd love to hear from you. Seriously. Reach out via the Contact page.

In-Person Gaming

Of course, RNGESUS dice work great for in-person games too. No integration needed — just roll the die, tap your phone, and everyone can see the result. The app keeps track of everything, so you have a complete log of your session.

Some DMs use this to keep players honest. Some players use it to prove their dice aren't cursed. (They might still be cursed. We can't help with that.)

API Access

For the technically inclined: we're considering opening up an API that would let developers build their own integrations. If you have a specific use case or platform you want to connect, let us know. Community interest helps us prioritize what to build next.

Stay Updated

Gaming integrations are a big priority for us. As we release new features and platform support, we'll announce it through the app and our website. If there's a specific integration you're dying for, tell us — it helps us know where to focus.
